Even before the first Quilt Show in Stevenson, WA in the year 2000
the founders had a dream to bring a guild to the Columbia River
Gorge. That is just what we did.
In
February, 2007 the CRGQ-Guild formed. It is official. The Guild
is a 501(c)3, planning a Quilt Show for September 2008!!!
The
CRGQ-Guild honors all the quilters from the past and embraces new
members. The CRGQ-Guild reaches out to quilters on both sides of
the Columbia River from Washougal, WA to Arlington, OR and from
Goldendale, WA
to Grass Valley, OR.
Meetings
Meetings are held on the third Saturday, four times a year, in February,
May, August and November. Meeting location moves around within the
Gorge. Meetings are structured to provide fellowship, display quilt
projects, learn of upcoming events and participation in scheduled
programs. Each meeting has a featured presenter. All members are
encouraged to improve their skills by participating in the various
lectures, classes, workshops and seminars. Workshops follow regular
meetings. The Gorge quilt show offers the opportunity to display
your work and be judged, a vendors mall close to home and three
days of seminars with international and national.
Public
Service
As a non-profit corporation CRGQG participates in community service
projects as requested by local organizations and approved by membership.
If your area has a project you think needs our help, you are invited
to submit a proposal to CRGQG. If your local quilt group needs the
support of the Guild membership, contact the Charity project chair.
All donated hours make a difference, and count towards our not-for-profit
status. Columbia River Gorge Quilters is incorporated in the state
of Oregon as a “public charity” non-profit corporation with 501
(c) (3) status.
